This fifth album from Nightwish what was released on 2004 was maybe the second album for me to wait from them or maybe even the first one, can't remember anymore for sure. I mean that when I found Nightwish they already had released Angels Fall First, Oceanborn and Wishmaster at least. Maybe they had just relased Century Child when I found this band and Once was first one I was waiting or maybe I was already waiting when Century Child was coming out? Hard to remember anymore, sadly.
I remember that when I heard first samples what was published before the album came out they sounded great. Times were different back then and there was much more feeling in waiting of album to be relased than nowadays. I think big reason for this is probably streaming services and how everything is immediately available on net after its release. There is no need anymore to go to shop and purchase album if you do not want. Somehow even knowing this makes waiting somehow meaningless, or at least it does not feel same than long time ago before Internet was mainstream.
Anyway, this album still is good and I like it, but more often when I go back to my CD shelf to search what to play I pick older albums more often than this. This is good but still in this album they already started to go different direction than what I liked most.
