Review

Auli, a young woman is daydreaming about love that would be so deep that no one around her seems understand that kind of love. She reads books what will make her dream about it more. One day that writer moves next to her and she will learn that this man is some sort of playboy and he have lots of ladies around him. Later Auli and this writer get to know each other and they fall in love, at least it seems so for Auli. Sadly that does be the case and that last only short time and the man does not leave messages to her as he was promised. Auli gets a kid and she never seems to get over this relationship and she tells her story in hand written diary what she gives as a birthday gift to this writer.

It was refreshing to see old finnish movie after a long time. As it was often the case in old finnish movies, in this movie also characters have overly theatrically expression in their talking. I like how this movie have interesting way of telling the story, how rich the dialogue was and how good acting it had. Story itself is interesting but also kind of sad. Young romatnic woman who needs for passionate love that would be different what others seems to get in their lives gets used by the writer who is totally different than the overly romantized version what Auli have thought. She will learn harsh reality, but she does not seem to learn - she still seems to belive - or maybe just want to believe - that the writer would love her the way she love him.

This was a good finnish movie.
