Review
There is a man called V who causes chaos to society by blowing up a important building and brakes the illusion of peace. A peace has been built by tyrannical government and it has been allowed to exists by citizens since they have not gone against the government and its tyrannical ways. Maybe the reason for it has been fear what government used as a tool when they got their powers in the first place. When the V attacks against this tyrannical government and broadcasts his message to the citizens it challenges them to think if they should rise against the government to achieve a better, free world.
I like this movie and it is interesting to see how this movie feels more topical in current era in western societies where are lots of issues unhandled and not talked publicly even those should be and it seems to feed extremes in all sides of political spectrums. In this movie there was a radical conservative party what got its power by causing chaos and then giving the solution what caused a death for freedom as we know it, but in real life of course the question is much more bigger than just "left" vs. "right". In western societies we are slipping more and more towards the surveillance society and there is no difference what political parties are in charge since both seems to lead to same result.
Without thinking the current era of politics it is also easy to see similarities of Nazi Germany in this movie. In the end it does not matter if this movie is about the nazis, current era of politics or whatever - the more important thing is the teachings of the V. People could die, but the ideas outlive past them. Only way to make the change is to be free from fears and stand on your ground when you know what is right and you are ready to stand for it even if will cost your life.
Story is intersting and thoughtful, direction is good, acting works well and all the technical elements are made with style. All in all this movie is great and worth watching multiple times.
