Top Gun: Maverick

Review

Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is given a choice to train Top Gun flyers or not fly at all anymore. He takes less worse option even he is not the trainer and does not want to be. On this course he needs to train young pilots to do a mission what sounds impossible and it does not help at all that one of the Top Gunner is a son of Goose, a man who was on the fly with Maverick when there was an accident what caused death of Goose like we have seen in original Top Gun -movie. Maverick needs to face his past and get over what happened and make the impossible mission possible.

I liked this movie, even tho on some elements there were a feeling that it tries to capture the atmosphere of some scenes from the old Top Gun movie but without perfect success. Good thing is that it wasn't too bad either and if you haven't seen the old movie then it does not feel too obvious if you have nothing to compare it.

Good thing is that this movie is a well made and it stands well on its own feets, it looks beautiful, action feels like action, pacing of the movie is just well done and there is enough balance to build the scenes so action have a meaning and it does not feel boring in any moment.

This was a good movie what would be nice to see another time as well.
