Review

Neo is a man who have got out from Matrix, a big simulation where almost all human race is living. Others humans who also have got out from Matrix are living in Zion, a space ship where they try to survive against the machines who try to destroy them. Some of the people believe that Neo is the Chosen One who will end the war between humans and machines but not all are so sure about it. Neo find The Architect who is behind this all and learn more about the Matrix and the history what has been unknown to him before.

I had seen this movie some years ago, but I had not much memories about this anymore so it tells something about this movie as well as my memory. Now when I saw this then it is easy to understand, because mostly this movie is quite mediocre sci-fi action with philosphical themes in story and there is just too much too boring action scenes what starts to feel meaningless in many ways.

This story continues where the Matrix ended, but sadly it does not grow as much and as steadily as it did on first movie. This time there was too much focus on action and some of those scenes were just too long. For me this maybe would have worked better if this would have been shorter movie and more about philosophical themes and life in Zion and more about the war between machines and humans.

There were also couple of characters who just felt fillers. They were strong enemies to fight for, but what was the purpose of them anyway in bigger picture, or was there any meaning at all except to make longer fighting scenes?

Visually this movie was looking great and there were no any bad things in audio either. Both were made with good taste and style. CGI was looking still good, at least mostly. When agents took persons body it was quite funny looking in some ways, but it was still ok.

All in all, this movie was ok but quite mediocre in many ways.
