Die Brücke

Review

There is young schoolkids whom are taken from school to the war to protect the bridge. On their mission most of them dies and they can learn the meaningless of it all when those whom are still alive hear that this bridge will be blown away because it has been decided to be destroyed.

This was somehow different than most of the war movies I have seen. Maybe it is because this was not made by americans and in Hollywood, don't know, but this was not that kind of movie I like much. Surely, it was not bad movie in general even tho there was from time to time acting what could have been better, but in the bigger picture it felt that it was too shallow.

Dynamics between persons were not that good so actions characters does didn't felt meaningful. It felt just that random young persons are just thrown together to protect the bridge and then they fight meaningless fight until most of them are dead. Persons had different personalities and it was clearly seen what is a good thing, but sadly none of them felt meaningful for the story. Characters and their stories felt just a filler, not a part of their identity.

Production was good, there was good and well working camera usage, explosions and other effects were working without any issue and almost all the basic elements of cinematography was done fine in general but the whole movie lacks the depth and emotion why it was just a casual movie for me without much to remember. One thing what was excellent tho was the music, there were lots of great music in many scenes so that was a big plus.
