Review
Emperor and his family have unsolved issued behind their polite behaviour. There is untold secrets which are going to be revealed and those will change the course of this family to another direction.
This movie was good, but sadly not as good than the potential it had. There were lots of great scenes, beautiful compositions in camera as well as on music, but the editing made this movie felt too rushed that from time to time it felt quite annoying. Too fast cuts on multiple scenes broke the beauty of the scene and made it felt more like a modern Hollywood movie than the poetically beautiful chinese masterpiece what it could have been.
It feels somehow ironic that I personally am not a big fan of long movies (2 h 30 min and over) but on this movie I wished that it would have been closer to 3 hours so it wouldn't have been felt this rushed emotionally.
So much potential was lost, sadly, but still this was a good movie and I would like to see it another time as well in future.
