I have seen this movie multiple times in my life and I have always liked this. In general I am a fan of vampire movies and this movie captures all the essential elements of that genre - faith, mystery, erotic tension, love, life and death. Best of all, this movie captures those elements in very stylish and balanced way.
Supernatural elements are strongly present in this movie and partly it had same vibes than some of the horror movies what have demonic possessions and exorcism. My only negative feelings from this movie comes from some of those elements since I look those through my personal faith to Jesus Christ as my saviour and that kind of elements are elements that I am not fan of in any movie since those feels like making a show from a serious thing. Of course I understand that it might not be the intention of the director so everybody have to do their own judgement.
Also when the Dracula uses same words than Jesus on the cross it felt like a mockery, but in the end I am not sure if that was meant to be like that or not - especially when you think about the ending and how the love saved the Dracula from darkness then maybe it was not mocking at all, maybe even totally opposite.
Visual style of this movie is great as well as the music. Story works, atmosphere are well built and the generally this movie makes everything well in its own genre.
All in all, this is a timeless classic and especially in the world of vampire movies.
